How to overcome your first fight as a married couple in a very simple and sweet way ...
We first heard of the First Fight Box through a good friend of Hart & Harper and we were so eager to do some research so we could share with you all.
All of us have had them and the truth of the matter is they will most probably happen again at some point... Yes we are talking about arguments. They are never easy amongst couples and they say the first fight as a married couple is one that can be very overwhelming amongst with many "Firsts" you both will experience.
So if your thinking well how does this box help and how do i get one? Well it's very simple, you can actually make it yourself...
Below is a list of things you will need and instructions on what to do;
Before your big day you will need....
1 x wooden box
1 x bottle of wine - or alcohol of your choice
2 x glasses
2 x nails (the hammering type not the fingers)
Write a letter to each other, detailing how you feel about one another and the special things you love about your relationship and all the emotions and thoughts you have leading up to your special day as you prepare your lives together. Be sure there is no peeking... as it's important you both don't see the letters or speak of it.
Day of your wedding ...
During the ceremony (be sure to advise your priest or celebrant of this so they can work it into the ceremony proceedings), place the love letters inside the box and get a nail each and hammer it shut. You are to agree to keep the box sealed until your 10 year wedding anniversary or if you have a fight - whichever comes first. When this happens open the box, pour your drink and read the letters to remind you both just why the love you have for one another is so strong and worth it all.
That's it nice and easy! As a little tip get your box engraved with both your names and your wedding date this can be a nice feature for your home ... This can also be a great gift idea for a friend who is getting married too as a engagement gift.
We would love to hear from you .. Feel free to share your thoughts and questions below.
